In June of 2009, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provided funding to the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium's Alaska Native Epidemiology Center to establish an Alaska Native Trial Health Consortium (ANTHC) Colorectal Cancer Control Program. The goal of this program is to significantly increase CRC screening across the Alaska Tribal Health System with a focus on 50-64 year olds who are low-income and who have inadequate or no health insurance coverage for colorectal cancer screening.
